The University of Manitoba offers bursaries and scholarships to international students in order to assist those who are in need of financial assistance and to recognize students who have excelled academically.

International Undergraduate Student Entrance Scholarships

International students who graduate from international high schools and enroll in courses at the University of Manitoba are eligible to apply for the International Undergraduate Student Entrance Scholarship, which was created to honor academic achievement.

Scholarships will be available to students who:

  • are foreign students, defined as those who are in Canada with valid study permits, who applied by March 1st to be admitted to any Faculty or School at the University of Manitoba
  • who are paying the tuition fees associated with being an international student
  • who have attained a minimum high school average of 85% based on the top five senior-level courses from our list of approved General Entrance Scholarships.

Every year, the value of each award is determined in tiers according to the average high school grade. For instance, the award values for the year 2023–2024 were as follows:

  • Averages greater than or equal to 95% –  $3,000
  • Averages greater than or equal to 90% –  $2,000
  • Averages greater than or equal to 85% –  $1,000

International Undergraduate Student Scholarships

The International Undergraduate Student Scholarship was created to recognize and honor international students at The University of Manitoba for their outstanding academic performance.

Scholarships are offered to international students who:

  • are in Canada on valid study permits;
  • who have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours in any Faculty or School at the University of Manitoba;
  • demonstrate outstanding academic performance in courses finished during the most recent regular academic session (minimum sessional grade point average of 3.5)
  • are enrolled in their program full-time for the upcoming year of undergraduate study during the Fall/Winter academic session, with a minimum of 24 credit hours.

Scholarships will be awarded to those who meet the above requirements based on their sessional grade point average until all funds have been used up or the grade point requirement is met. By the end of July, eligible recipients will receive notification.
