Pep Guardiola has promised to quit Manchester City if the Etihad club doesn’t move forward.
Guardiola made the statement amid concerns his Manchester City players have lost their hunger to win the title again.
The Spaniard has guided Man City to four Premier League triumphs in his six spells in charge at the Citizens.
After winning two on the bounce, Guardiola’s seventh at the helm is not going to plan as they sit in second position behind leaders Arsenal.
Speaking to reporters, Guardiola said: “I won four LaLiga titles in Spain in a row and it wasn’t the same going for the fifth.
“I wasn’t starving enough — too much caviar. Real Madrid beat us to the league that year.
“I understand how my players feel, but I’m here to stop it. The chairman knows that.
“I want to be here; otherwise, I would not have signed [a new contract this season].
“But if I lose the team, I lose something. I can not be here. The club has to move forward.
“These goals we’ve given away like the second against Manchester United, aren’t acceptable.”
