With a large number of bandits, robberies, murders, and kidnappings for ransom have once again taken center stage. Invading Dankade hamlet in Kebbi state's Zuru emirate on Friday, killing at least 16 people, a single armed police officer, and a soldier.

According to DSP Nafiu Abubakar, the PRO of the Kebbi State Police Command, the bandits were engaged by police and the military, compelling them to abandon their targets.

According to the State Police Command PRO, the bandits infiltrated Dankade village via another route, killing at least 16 residents, including a policeman and a soldier, and abducting an unknown number of citizens.

"Bandits also set a lot of houses on fire," he added.
