Bello Matawalle, the governor of Zamfara State, warned on Monday that banditry in his state will not go away anytime soon due to the level of people involved.

Remember that a federal high court just declared bandits to be terrorists, prompting the federal government to label them as such.

Governor Matawalle told State House media after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa in Abuja that despite the efforts of those who fuel terrorism, the security situation in the state will improve significantly by this week.

President Buhari's desire to increase security activities in the state, he claims, will result in changes in the situation starting tomorrow (Wednesday).

He refuted claims that more than 200 people were murdered in the recent attacks in Bukuyyum and elsewhere.
