MilliporeSigma and Innovative Biotech have announced a partnership to support the establishment of Nigeria's first vaccine manufacturing facility. MilliporeSigma, Merck KGaA's Life Science business in the United States and Canada, said today that the Life Science business sector has inked an agreement with biotechnology company Innovative Biotech (IB) to design the manufacturing process for Nigeria's first vaccine production facility.
"This partnership is a testament to our dedication to providing access to life-saving and life-enhancing medications to patients throughout the world," said Andrew Bulpin, Head of Process Solutions, Life Science business sector. "We are honored to offer technical assistance and knowledge that will aid in the establishment of Nigeria's first vaccination plant and the localization of vaccine development in the West African region."
This partnership is part of the West African pandemic preparedness program, which attempts to localize vaccine development in the African continent.
