A Nigerian military base in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State has been reportedly attacked by armed persons suspected to be members of Boko Haram.

Residents told Channels Television that the terrorists drove into Katarko village in 10 gun trucks and attacked the military formation, where they engaged the security operatives at the base in a heavy shooting.

The residents were forced to run into the nearby bushes for safety but a military source said the troops repelled the attack.

 

Tension As Gunmen Attack Police Headquarters in Ebonyu

 

 

 

Sunday dawn shootout between gunmen and police operatives at the divisional headquarters in Unwana, Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi has resulted in at least one death and many gun injury.

Spokesperson of the command, Loveth Odah, said the police killed one of the gunmen and recovered two AK-47 rifles and other incriminating items when the hoodlums attacked the station.

The Police Command in Ebonyi on Sunday repelled an attack by suspected IPOB insurgents on its divisional headquarters in Unwana, Afikpo North Local Government area of the state.

The spokesperson for the command, DSP Loveth Odah, in a statement in Abakaliki that the police killed one of the gunmen and recovered two AK-47 rifles and other incriminating items when the hoodlums attacked the station on Sunday.

 

Police nab 3 suspected kidnappers in Kogi, recover arms

 

The Police in Kogi have arrested three suspects believed to belong to a gang of kidnappers terrorising motorists on Itobe-Anyigba highway.

They are Danlami Shuaibu, Kabiru Amodu and Adejoh Tijani all of Adumu village in Ofu Local Government suspected to be responsible for series of kidnappings in the area.

 

A statement signed by William Ovye Aya, spokesman for the command, on Saturday, in Lokoja, said that the suspects were arrested by Police operatives attached to Itobe Division in Ajaokuta Area Command.

A statement from CBN’s Director, Corporate Communications, Mr Osita Nwanisobi on Sunday said the launch of the eNaira was a product of intense research by the apex bank to ease transactions process for Nigerians.
