Rotary International has been described as a service oriented Organisation that fights poverty across the World.
Rtn. Chukwuma Odoemene who stated this in his welcome address during his installation as the 43rd President of Rotary Club Of Owerri, on Saturday 31st July 2021, at Immaculate Royal Hotel, pointed out that Rotary Club provides a wide range of services that make life better and safer for the people.
Rtn. Odoemene maintained that as Visionaries, they have been charged to serve to change lives, adding that his administration will embark on many highly impactful humanitarian service projects that will tremendously and positively touch many lives in various Communities and the society at large.
According to him, ” Rotary Club preaches peace, provides clean and portable water to Communities that need them, fights poverty in a variety of ways, campaigns against diseases.”
Rtn Odoemene who used the opportunity to inaugurate the Club’s new Board of Directors and induction of new members, however listed his adminstration seven Focal projects and called on Friends, awardees and members of the Club to support the Club to achieve all it’s lofty projects for the year 2021- 2022, noting that together they will serve to change lives.
One of the highlights of the installation ceremony that attracted who is who in the State and beyond, was presentation of Rotary award to High Chief Charles Orie, Managing Director of Imo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission ( ISOPADEC) and other high profiled personalities in the Society .
