WAEC Finally Releases 2021 WASSCE Results for Private candidates
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates, 2021 – First Series.
Head of the Nigeria National Office, WAEC, Mr Patrick Areghan, told reporters on Tuesday the examination was primarily designed to help candidates seeking admission to tertiary institutions to reduce the waiting time for results and beat admission deadlines.
He said: “The evaluation of the records of the performance of applicants shows that out of the Seven Thousand Two Hundred and Eighty-Nine (7,289) applicants that sat the exam:
“Two Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirty-Eight (2,938) applicants representing forty.31 consistent with cent acquired credit and above in at the least any five topics (without or with English Language and/or Mathematics; out of which One Thousand Three Hundred and Ninety-Six (1,396) were male and One Thousand 5 Hundred and Forty-Two (1,542) have been lady applicants, representing 47.52%and 52.Forty eight % respectively;
“Two Thousand One Hundred and Ninety-Five (2,195) applicants representing 30.11 in line with cent received credit and above in at the least five (five) topics, which include English Language and Mathematics.
“Of this wide variety, One Thousand and Seventy-Four (1,074) i.E. Forty eight.Ninety three in line with cent had been male candidates, while One Thousand, One Hundred and Twenty-One (1,121) i.E. 51.07 in step with cent have been woman candidates. The percentage of candidates on this class in the WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2019 and 2020, this is, individuals who received credit score and above in not less than five subjects, consisting of English Language and Mathematics, were 26.08 per cent and 32.23 in line with cent respectively. Thus, there is a marginal decrease of two.12 in keeping with cent in performance in this regards.”[NewsNaira]
