Schools Resume January 18 Until Further Directive - PTF Says

The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, on Tuesday, said schools in the nation will continue on January 18 until the Ministry of Education declares further order. 

PTF National Coordinator, Dr Sani Aliyu, expressed this while highlighting on a TV program observed by The PUNCH. 

The Minister of Education, Adamu, had on Monday, said the Federal Government would audit the January 18 prior date fixed for resumption of schools across Nigeria. 

The priest, who talked at a PTF preparation in Abuja, credited the choice to the second rush of COVID-19 as of now attacking the nation. 

Talking further on the issue on Tuesday, the PTF organizer said the priest didn't state the date has been changed. 

Aliyu stated, "As respects schools, I simply need to make an explanation, what the priest said yesterday was that they planned to survey, he didn't state that they planned to change the date. He said they will survey the circumstance and let the country know. 

"Along these lines, for the occasion, it is as yet eighteenth January until the service of schooling returns either with an elective date or reconfirm that." 

The PUNCH had before revealed that PTF Chairman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, on Monday, said voyages, resuming of schools, organizations and strict focuses added to the ascent in Covid cases in Nigeria. 

"It is anyway exceptionally educational to push that factors that have added to ascend in numbers from late November 2020 included expanded neighborhood and worldwide voyages, business and strict exercises, resuming of schools without severe consistence with COVID-19 security measures.
