The National Union Is Still Consulting Its Members Over ASUU Strike

The public authority of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has said it is as yet counseling on what its answer will be to the offers the Federal Government made for it to end its eight-month-old strike. 

The National President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, said this on Tuesday in a talk with Vanguard. 

As per him, the discussion is with individuals the nation over and other basic partners. 

"We have what the public authority is offering and have sent same to our individuals cross country and we are counseling on what the following line of activity will be. You realize a tree doesn't make a woods and our association is popularity based in nature and practice. 

"With respect to what amount of time the discussion would require, I can't state yet it might go past this week. Whatever we settle on is unquestionably going to be in public interest, the interest of our youngsters, the interest of our individuals and the benefit of all, " he said. 

Review that after a progression of gatherings the authority of the association held with the public authority group drove by the Minister of Labor, Dr Chris Ngige, the public authority vowed to pay the retained pay rates of teachers going from four to eight months. 

The public authority likewise said it would deliver N75 billion for the revitalisation of the framework and the installment of Earned Academic Allowances.
