Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, has given an update at the death of a newspaper dealer who was killed by his security aide

Update: Unfortunate Death of Mr. Ifeanyi Okereke

SPEAKER HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Federal Republic of Nigeria
November 20.2020

The unfortunate loss of life of Mr. Ifeanyi Okereke at the fingers of one in all my security aides has left me deeply shaken.

Mr. Okereke turned into a citizen going about his business, looking to make a residing for himself and his circle of relatives. There isn't any reason for his existence to have ended the manner it did.

This morning, I have passed over the security operative, Abdullahi M. Hassan, to the Department of State Security (DSS) for investigation and appropriate administrative and judicial motion. In the intervening time, he has been suspended from the convoy.

I expect, and I will see to it that the own family of Mr Ifeanyi Okereke gets the whole measure of justice in order that their bereavement is not compounded by any movements which can cause them further pain and suffering.

I even have expressed my personal condolence to his own family and have arranged to fulfill with them when the mother and father of Mr. Okereke, who are already on their manner, arrive in Abuja.

Additionally, I have devoted to them that I will guide his wife and the on the spot own family he has left behind.

I commiserate with the circle of relatives of Mr. Ifeanyi Okereke and ask all Nigerians to enroll in me right now to hope for the peaceful repose of his soul.

Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila
Speaker
